Taylor Swift Gives Update on Hand Injury After Falling During Her Houston Eras Tour Show
Soon she’ll get better! Taylor Swift addressed fan concerns following one of her recent Eras Tour performances, during which she injured her hand.
“Just got to play 3 insane shows in Houston and I’m waking up smiling reminiscing about how much fun we all had,” Swift, 33, wrote via Twitter on Monday, April 24, alongside images from her three shows in Houston, Texas. “PS for those asking how I cut my hand, I’m totally fine and it was my fault completely – tripped on my dress hem and fell in the dark backstage while running to a quick change — braced my fall with my palm.”
The Folklore singer, who is preparing for her Atlanta gigs next weekend, quipped that the incident was “all very Mercury in retrograde coded,” and she was OK.
“”I’m loving this tour so much because of the passion that these people put into it all,” she said.
Following her explanation, supporters raced to the comments section to share their relief and to praise the Grammy winner for her ability to persevere during her performance.
“Your mental and physical fortitude is truly inspirational. Thank you for assuring us you’re okay,” one person wrote, while another replied, “So glad you’re ok, Taylor. Stay safe please!”
Taylor Swift has had her fair share of incidents on her Eras Tour, which kicked off last month and is her first tour in over five years. The Evermore singer seemed unfazed when a wardrobe malfunction forced her to ask for assistance at her April 13 concert in Tampa, Florida.
When she was performing “Lavender Haze,” Swift’s shining purple garter, which she was wearing with her sequin Oscar de la Renta T-shirt dress, broke. Swift, however, didn’t let the event stop the event and walked over to her backup vocalists, who assisted in removing the accessory.
Swift belted out “I end up in crisis” as they adjusted her frock, a fitting phrase for the difficult circumstance. The “City of Lover” girl hilariously poked fun at the fashion faux pas by nodding and gesturing as she finished the lyric.
Swift has also had her fair share of behind-the-scenes turmoil while on tour. Our source has confirmed earlier this month that the Pennsylvania native and her longtime lover Joe Alwyn called it quits after six years together. A source told GNT exclusively at the time that the Conversations With Friends star, 32, was struggling to cope with Swift’s A-list celebrity status.
“Their separation was influenced by their fame. “Joe is very shy and never liked all of the attention that came with dating one of the most popular singers in the world,” the insider stated, adding that the songwriter isn’t “to blame” for the separation, and Alwyn “just didn’t like having to be on all of the time.”
Swift and Alwyn struggled hard to keep their relationship a secret before to their breakup. The pair met while the pop diva was having a difficult time in the limelight due to her split from Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston, as well as her feuds with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
“I was falling in love with someone who had a wonderfully normal, balanced life,” Swift revealed in her 2020 Netflix documentary, Miss Americana. “We decided together we wanted our relationship to be private. I was happy. But I wasn’t happy in the way I was trained to be happy. It was happiness without anyone else’s input. We were just happy.”
While the ex-couple hasn’t confirmed their split, a source revealed this exclusively news that the “Invisible String” singer is “handling the breakup really well” and “feeling optimistic” about her future.
“”She truly believes that whatever is meant to be, will be, and that everything happens for a reason,” the source said, adding that Swift is “enjoying her freedom” but is still “adjusting to single life.”
According to the GNT source, Swift “isn’t even thinking about getting into another relationship anytime soon,” but the “Ivy” singer is doing “great” in this new chapter of her life.
